MOUSECROFT POOL

The Mousecroft Pool Fishery,

Situated south of Shrewsbury, Mousecroft pool is a delightful spot. Surrounded on three sides by mixed deciduious trees this woodland fishery offers peace and quiet, secure off road parking and good fishing. The pool is easily accessable from the car park via a short walk along a safe and level path.

A key for access to the fishery is required. These are available from TOTAL ANGLING.

Mousecroft Pool is a good mixed fishery with Carp featuring well. Specimens of over twenty pounds are regularly taken and the pool has a good range of features. Open water of mixed depth, reeds and rushes line the margins except the 'snaggy' bottom corner which has plenty of submerged trees and branches trailing into the water. The left hand bank as viewed in the photo is of open grass land behind offering safe comfortable and roomy pegs. The path encircles three quarters of the fishery offering plenty of scope and differing angles from which to target your quarry. Safe, clean, level pegs are situated along the perimiter path at regular intervals and can accommodate a number of anglers.

Open to day ticket or season permit holders.

Certain rules apply at Mousecroft. Please read the notes at the bottom of the page.

This shot below shows the access road leading from the locked gate to the car park, however do not expect the same 'open' view as you see here. Mixed woodland of well established semi mature trees abound either side of the access road and top bank area as viewed here. The diagonal line is a public footpath crossing the fishery so please expect the occaisional dog walker. The short footpath to the fishery can clearly be seen leading from the car park.

Road access is via either Radbrook Road or Longden road, turning towards Nobold, just a few minutes from the Hereford road bypass.

This shot shows the entire fishery. The wooded section protruding into the pool on the right hand side is the only area of the fishery lacking pegs or swims. The point where the car park path meets the pool, to the trees at the bottom of the photo is the open grassy bank.
