MEMORY LANE

1960's treasured memories, when Salmon abounded.
Best tally Friday to Sunday night saw 128 Salmon landed,
with rods on even or odd days due the number of rods.

Golden olden days, when the gutter carried the mainstream and life seemed easier

A days fishing............
'Watty' and a good bunch of mates pose for the LMS team photo.

'True Gentlemen'
Another nostalgic photo, 'Watty' with Ted and Cyril Biddulph,
And Ex President of the S.A.F Jim Grocott

Vic Jones with a fine Salmon.

Pete Pemberton with a very large (at the time) Bream

This smart young chap is our very own Roger Carswell.
Taken in 1962 Roger can be seen holding the Junior Angling Trophy.
Well done!

Fantastic shot of a few young chaps at the gutter on Sydney Avenue (one of which happens to be current Shrewsbury Town FC chairman, Roland Wycherley.

The Weir circa 1915 clearly showing the barge gutter and a very familiar skyline | |
